TRUE
WEALTH
It's funny. In some
of the most critical areas of our lives, we get the least education or
wisdom. Parenting, relationships, wealth, and health - what's up with
that?
Redesigning a
healthy spiritual and creative kinship with money takes time. This may not
be the right time. Then again, if money is causing constant unrest, waiting will
make it worse. You've waited enough to know
things won't change by themselves. You're here for bigger things than
wrestling with money.
The sooner you start the
journey, the sooner you'll feel some relief and create
some shifts toward having more peace with money.
Ask yourself a few
questions. These will give you a sense of your money unease factor. Rate
yourself low, medium and high to each question.
a) When writing your
bills out the last four times, how many times did you feel like crap
afterwards - consumed with worry, anger or shame?
b) In the last
month, how many times did you lay awake wondering about cash flow OR
despairing about the lack of passion in your life? Yes, they are
related...
c) Even though
you're in a place of what most would consider financial abundance, do you
still obsess about possible threats or cash disasters?
d) When it was time
to do your taxes, or balance your checkbook, or some other outer money
game with a deadline, how much stress did your procrastination and
loathing cost you?
e) When faced with a
work-related decision, to what extent do you flounder because you're
uncertain of your desires, your many visions and your particular mission
this life?
f) How many times in
the last month did you do something you hated to do, because of money
concerns?
g) How many times
did a need for money cause you to step out of your usual integrity?
So - if you were to
have a wealth physical, would there be bad news?
If you answered more than 4 of these questions with a high rating, you're
likely in a liveliness-threatening zone with money. This means you feel
yucky or sick about money more than any creative and spiritual person
deserves to.
Never mind how that
yuck stuff gums up the works, and mucks up your creativity and
efficiency. Never mind the amount of fun and love it robs you of.
It's draining your life force! Luke - do something! Oh, wait, wrong
movie.
Imagine instead -
confidence, creative clarity, spiritual alignment. Imagine all of your
needs met so you could serve in the way you have dreamed. Isn't it time?
